1. Understand how to safely manage allergy in schools.

2. Understand what an allergy is and how an allergic reaction occurs.

3. Understand how individuals at risk
of anaphylaxis and/or asthma will have access to their prescribed adrenaline and/or asthma inhalers.

4. Understand how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected anaphylaxis.

5. Understand how to provide first aid to a casualty having an asthma attack.

6. Understand the impact allergy can
have on a child’s wellbeing.

7. Understand how to report and record serious incidents and near misses.

Throughout this 2-hour course, Learners will develop the knowledge, and confidence to recognise the symptoms of an allergic reaction and act promptly to provide potentially life-saving support when every second counts.

Topics covered include: To understand allergies and how allergic reactions occur, Identify the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis and asthma, How to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected anaphylaxis or having an asthma attack and report and record incidents.
